Mónica Dixon

Mónica Dixon Gutiérrez (Camden, New Jersey, 1971) is a painter whose work invites time to stand still. Trained in Fine Arts at Rutgers University and in drawing at the Fleischer School of Art in Philadelphia, she has developed a distinctive visual language: minimalist landscapes where silence takes center stage.

Her canvases depict solitary houses, impeccably rendered, set in open and almost unreal surroundings. The compositional simplicity, geometric precision, and soft color palette convey serenity and balance, while the absence of human figures suggests a space suspended between reality and dream. Dixon thus explores the idea of refuge — the home as a mental place — where calm and order are absolute.

Her painting, with its clean atmospheres and controlled light, connects with the tradition of contemporary realism, yet carries a poetic character that transforms each scene into an eternal moment.
